Settlers of Coonalpyn From All Eras
- FAMILY HISTORY BOOK -
As part of our celebrations of the Centenary of
Coonalpyn, the Centenary Archives Group have decided to compile a book
of people and families that have settled in Coonalpyn & district over
the last hundred years (& before).
We are looking for the story of the first settlers of each family
whether they currently live in Coonalpyn or have since moved on. We are
not just looking for early settlers but everyone in between including
families that have may have only settled in Coonalpyn in the last 10
years, 20 years or even the last 12 months.
Abbreviated family history to be submitted by the family for inclusion
in the book on the agreement that the book will be published & for sale
to the public as well a copy retained for Coonalpyn Archives. If a
submitted history is not to a suitable standard it is at the discretion
of the Centenary Archives Group to either ask for it to be resubmitted
or to not be included in the book.

A list of descendants still in the district

Maximum of 2 pages

Maximum of 2 photos ie: Photograph of the
Settler/s & another photograph of historical significance
History to be to Helen Marshall or Nadene
Jericho before the 31st October 2009 preferably on disk in Microsoft
Word format. If the history is not typed please submit as early as
possible to be typed.
Histories will be edited if necessary, no
historical verification will be carried out on submitted articles.
Photographs must be of suitable quality for
publishing (originals can be submitted for scanning and will be
returned).
It is hoped to have copies of the book
available for purchase on the Centenary weekend, however, it is possible
that this will be an ongoing project which extends past this date and in
this case will be available when completed. Orders will be taken at the
Centenary weekend.
