Quilt Exhibition & Challenge

Saturday 28th November - 10:30am to 4:30pm
at the Coonalpyn Lutheran Church Hall

"Coonalpyn Sew’n’sews held a Quilt exhibition to coincide with the Centenary weekend. The group of approximately 11 core members and many ‘part timers’ have been meeting for over 11 years and this is our second quilt show.

We had over 100 quilts and quilted articles such as bags, dolls and wall-hangings in our display and seven entries in our Challenge. The challenge was to make a wall hanging to commemorate the Centenary of Coonalpyn, which had to incorporate two pieces of specific fabric supplied by the group and the number 100. The winner of the Judges Choice and the Viewer’s Choice in the Challenge was Nadene Jericho, who has been a member of Sew’n’sews since its inception.

The viewing public also voted for their favourite quilt in the exhibition, with the winner being Anne-Maree Zanker, with a cartoon style farm animal quilt."
